We used to work as archaeologists, digging historic and prehistoric sites...that's how we met. Then one night at dinner, after much discussion, we shared that we both had always had thoughts about teaching. And that was it...that week we applied to graduate school! We supported each other every step of the way. We took classes together, worked together on presentations, brainstormed lesson ideas, and shared resources. Then, I got a job as a 7th grade social studies teacher and Ian became a 12th grade geology, astronomy and meteorology teacher. Oh, and then we became the Burleys.
Even now, a few years into our careers, we still support one another. We love to show each other tools and resources that we find and then figure out ways to use them in our classes. Then we realized that if we expect our students to be 21st century learners, we need to practice what we teach. So, we are networking and sharing our resources with you.
